Someone messaged me on Flickr about using this photo for some sort of Beer book. They also implied they would be able to get me a copy if I let them use the photo. The message was sent on 10-10-10 but no one viewed the photo on that day, or right before? A few days later there was about 2 views.

We will just see how this pans out.

After stopping in at the T-Mac of Suwanee and having a BOTM, Terrapin Pumpkinfest, and stopping in at the Fresh Market for some groceries and some sushi I began setting up for more weak astrophotography.

I got the scope setup rather quickly this time, but I spent more time than usual doing the alignment. The Polar Alignment went rather quickly (not doing drift alignment due to time) I was having trouble using the 12.5mm illuminated eyepiece since it had too much magnification.

The next issue I had was focusing. I continued to only be able to focus manually (without the use of the cover Brian had). He told me I would have to use photos to focus due to the limited light in the camera’s viewfinder, I’ll try it again tomorrow.

Took quick shots of M31 again a larger series, then M52, M27, M56, M71 and finally M57. Tried to do M20 and M92 but they were behind the house and trees toward the west and south.

Need to try them earlier in the evening tomorrow and use the light pollution filter as well.

This little black rat snake was just hanging around in the Big Creek Greenway, amazing that I saw him at all.

Got home and cooked up some pasta with red clam sauce, took a little creative liberty with this and added more capers (finished off the small jar) and then added heavy cream instead of the wine (needed to use up the heavy cream). Tasted really good.

Watched some of the Caprica pilot and then began setting up the CG-5 Equatorial Mount for viewing/ imaging tonight.

The neighbors received a new (old) Jag via very large car carrier. Talked with Patty and her oldest daughter, not Clair but … damn forget her name now. She will be getting the old car now they have a new one. The Jag will be needing some work before it’s drivable from what I saw (may be a totaled car but looked in good condition)

Finally it got dark enough to see Polaris and I tried with a lot of trouble to finally get the mount somewhat polar aligned. Didn’t bother doing a precise alignment since I wasn’t all that worried about it. I was trying to get some shots of the comet Hartley (103P) but didn’t end up getting anything that I thought was it. Instead I imaged quickly a few of the Messier objects in the sky I could see.

namely: M39, M33, M34, M15, M76, M31, M30, M2, M73, M72, M75, M11 and M103

Went to the Kroger and picked up a few more things for the “cookout”, I really need to do a cookout in a big way sometime soon.

Hadn’t realized it but the trash pickup occurred this morning, even the recycling. I’m glad Brian brought out the trash can and had it in front of the garage, otherwise they wouldn’t have taken it at all. I woke up about 7am and got up to put the recycling out although they didn’t do that until much later. Did a walk around the yard, I need to cut back the bushes on the side of the house and the azaleas on the other side as well.

Went out to the pool about 1pm, met the pool manager a cute blond quite talkative actually, or maybe she was just bored 🙂 The sun kept going in and out and then it started to drizzle, almost a mist actually. I went out and put up the top on the car, since it wasn’t stopping even though the sun was continuing to shine even with the drizzle. Finally, about 2:20 the rain stopped and the sun came out. I headed on back home to cook out after 3.

Everyone bailed on us for the cookout, I wanted only a small get together but this was a bit much. Fired up the grill, finished the food and had a feast. The guacamole was great, the veggies actually good for me and I watched the latest episode of “V”. Had a nice dinner with the brother.

My parents should be in town on Tuesday or Wednesday so I canceled on Becky, I’m definitely NOT feeling the love there, whatever we did have there has basically just withered away a real shame.

Ended up over at the Taco Mac by the mall for a beer, had the Southern Tier Inequity India Black Ale, very yummy and finished my 175th beer on Taco Mac list 2, now I’ve got my $20 gift card and I’ll be retiring that list.

Here is the beer I had the night before after getting back from the Olde Towne Tavern with the Rogers gang.

JailHouse Brewing Co.
Beer So Good…It Should Be Outlawed

Started the day by getting up, thats about all. Well I did do some things around the yard and decided I need to get something done about the weeds in the front.

Finally Brian and I got going and first stopped in for some lunch at the Mellow Mushroom, he went a bit wild, maybe being a bit too much for little ole Lauryn, but I was happy to get him out of the house. He has been staying in too much due to the job thing (lack of one). We had our “normal” and even though I had a beer he didn’t. We figured we would be a bit late for the 2pm start of the tours, not that we really needed to worry about it, it didn’t matter when we arrived so long as if was after 2 and before 6pm.

We arrived there at almost exactly 2pm drove past the place several times and finally arrived realizing that the road (Cherry) was a one way only street. The downtown of Hampton, GA is revitalizing and they even had some interesting “lofts” for sale/rent at about $100K for a 1 bed 1.5 bath. The Jailhouse Brewing Company is in a cool building, actually has jailbars on the windows. The beers were asouse and the owners even better. Glen, the brewmaster is a storehouse of knowledge about brewing and beer and will tell you anything you want to know. Heard some interesting plans for the future as far as beers from JailHouse and look forward to seeing the beers at other places I go. I’ve read on there site that they will be at the East Atlanta Beer Festival, the Great Decatur Beer Festival, and the Hotober Beer Fest during the summer, I really look forward to seeing them.

I went out to Taco Mac for dinner and a few beers, got to see Monica (Jason’s g-friend) for a bit and also chatted to this dude who was from Ohio. At the end of the evening a brunette in a Budweiser shirt stopped in for a few bud light limes and to see the end of the NASCAR race, we talked for awhile (Allison) but I couldn’t really get past her country redneck feel, I really need to more down closer inside the perimeter.

I got the computer at work installed with the OS and have started putting things back together for development. Got a ping about the issue I’ve been working on since the end of last year. Need to get some traction on it.

Got a call from Brian and we both met up at the Mall of GA Taco Mac, talked to a nice couple and had a few beers and some food. I had a Fuller’s Porter and then a “Mystery Beer”, a $2 beer that could be anything, about 4 of us at the bar ordered them and Brian got a Porter, and I originally got the Dogfish Head Pumpkin but traded with the gal down the bar who had a Hooker IPA, a beer I haven’t had before (maybe at the Decatur Beerfest though).
That’s Cara on the left of the bottle. Seems she is more in focus than the bottle, didn’t mean for it to be that way 🙂

After getting home I messed with my Beer iPhone website and then Brian and I watched a movie with the dude that played Kirk in the new Star Trek movie. It was called Carriers about a group of young people in a disease epidemic traveling to the brother’s vacation spot.

I started the day by getting up and having some yogurt, then messing around online figuring out some stuff to go see.

I went down town to see the Sweetwater Brewery used the GPS and took some photos of the place, not very exciting but I’ll be checking it out next Saturday. I then stopped in at the Virginia Highlands Taco Mac and having a beer and some wings. The place was getting flooded, water was dripping madly from the ceiling in the bar area and in the back room. I saw the manager who used to be at the Suwanee store, the weasel looking one.

Michelle was working the bar, a little older girl with a few pounds but looked nice. A couple of guys were nice and the Chicago Bears game was on. I then went on back to L’ville and stopped in at the Hooters, had a beer with Anna and then with Katrina, saw Bruce, Tim and some others. Chatted with the new gal Liz who was continuing her training with Kate. Hope to see her in the next day or two alone.

I then stopped in at Beef’s and had too much of a good time. Nicole was bartending and Fuzzy was there, started talking shit with some guys there that were very much Obama’s boys, mostly just libertarians and even though we talked to loud we were not that far apart.

Then a really interesting couple showed up, Todd and Cathy very ultra liberal and young. With a tabogon hat and a goatee and her with blond hair and very ultra subservient. He seemed to not want to go home, drank Guinness so that wasn’t so bad.

Started but waking up late, almost 9:30am, then just messed around on the Internet. Did a little vacuuming and cut my hair. I then drove over to the Kroger and did a little bit of shopping and came home and had lunch. I also dropped off some clothes to the “Goodwill” that I know I can’t fit into any longer.

Decided to head over to T-Mac Suwanee to add a beer to the list, anded up having the Delirium Noel. Not too bad, but I have to admit almost just another Belgian Ale. Talked to the dudes there about other beers we liked and are looking forward to this season. I was surprised but CrystalJ ended up walking in and sitting at the end of the bar. I noticed her but didn’t want to pounce. A bit later I hear her yell “Aaron” and she moved over to sit with me. We talked for awhile catching up, she’s doing great living with the parents but hoping to move out again soon, her sister is getting on her nerves. She was going to work at the Green’s Liquor down inside the Perimeter off I85 at 4pm, they have a special on Blue Moon Grand Crue. I already have one in the fridge so although I wanted to see her again I decided not to make the trip.

Instead I went over to the L-ville Hooters and got to chat with my favorite little Gator fan, AshelyC, she had on a really nice Hooters tank from California she got from another regular. It had “If you ain’t a Gator your Gator bait!” on the back. It looked as if she had washed it a lot since it was a bit faded.

Ended up at Beefs for a couple of beers with the guys there, and the gals, Kieth, Jaime, Chelsea etc.

Poured a Yellow/Wheat color, two fingers white head and fine lacing.

The smell of Pine and Hops takes over when you begin to sip, the taste of Wheat and pine continues as you sip.

Mouthfeel is light with hoppy bitterness at the end, high carbonation. A nice IPA, I like Pale Ales and this one is hoppy like an American IPA, not quite enough to make it overpowering. I’ll get this one again.

Love the cleavage shot here, Ha, Ha and with a name like sword swallower….

My brother had to go into work this morning due to some meeting that came up over the weekend. Seems they are cutting costs by laying off a bunch of folks. This particularly sucks for my brother since he has worked for the company for over 9 years and had all kinds of stock options and has bent over backwards to hopefully help the company go public, even so far as getting pay-cuts and no raises for most of his tenure. They didn’t give him a bad severance package though, not quite a golden parachute but an OK package.

I was suppose to go to dinner with BeckyT, but as is often the case she bailed the day of due to some stuff with her dog and her ex picking up his cat. I kind of figured it might go this way so I’m not particularly surprised or disappointed, although I was looking forward to some sushi.

Instead, I took out the camera and telescope, setting up the camera for a star trail shot out front and the telescope to play with drift alignment. The temperature and humidity made for a very dewy time. The scope was almost dripping and the camera lens was fogging up. Got the hair dryer out to help with the camera but the telescope lens seemed fine since it is covered. Here is the results of the over 2 hour capture of star trails.
