cloudyCloudy and hazy all day, a bit warmer than normal though, in the high to mid sixties. Sun only came out in the afternoon for a short time.

Work was a bit slow, the build machine not set up yet.

I called up the dentist and they do have my crown and said they could get it “installed” this afternoon @ 3:20pm. Headed out of work about 2:15 in order to get back to Lawrenceville by then and just about the time I was rounding the corner of 120 where Great Expressions, my dentist, is they called to say they had an emergency and they were going to have to re-schedule, FUCK! OK, tomorrow @ 8:10 it is.

Decided to go ahead and order a TriggerTrap Arduino off of Amazon. They were suppose to just bill me for one when they began to stock again but I haven’t heard a thing and then looked it up. They billed me so I hope it comes in soon, and is right. They were having lots of trouble with the China connections they had.

Came home and watched some BBT and the newest Cougar Town. Also made some chicken fajitas and smashed up an avocado. Very yummy but still unable to eat very well. Brian was going to the ‘Shroom for dinner and invited me to have a beer or something, I was sleeping mostly on the chair and thought about it buy since I wanted to go to Trivia tonight I decided against it.

Trivia was cool, bunch of people today, Sam, Brett, Bill, Kate, Russell, a friend of Sam’s-Lisa, Autumn, her friend Brian and I. We were in the thick of things until the last question where we lost it all. Not very conservative when it comes to betting. Had one too many beers actually, should have just stayed with two.

After the tremendous thunderstorm last night that thankfully included rain, it was quite damp, overcast and muggy this morning. Got sunny in the afternoon and by evening it clouded up again and even rained just a little bit. No thunderstorms tonight though.

Finally got my iOS system together, all the silly stuff is now installed but I can’t reproduce the issue I’m working on. They (Support) will be hopefully get me a system that does fail so I can do some testing and get to the bottom of the issue.

Home and finished off the leftovers from chicken and rice night, Monday and then watched a bit of TV, upstairs for a short nap and then after a bit of computer time, off to Trivia @ Parma.

When I arrived, LaurenS was working but not looking all that happy. Seems she is not feeling well and is up for a procedure to take care of some cysts tomorrow or the next day. Anna came in to take over about 8pm, after a bit of rain. I had forgot Anna’s name and she was all into hugging and stuff with all of us. Not that I’m unhappy with that but…. We discussed some massages she had gotten off of Groupons and she was a bit sort although very relaxed. I have to say I love her blue eyes and dark very curly hair, I just want to get my hands wrapped around it and pull a bit. *darts eyes around***.

The group was Bill, Same, Brett, Russell and I, not sure where Katie the almost PhD was… We did basically HORRIBLE, we were only in about 4th and even though I told them the answer Sam didn’t want to change it and we lost 20 on the last question, the second most popular drink after water in the world. It isn’t Milk, it’s tea and I said so after thinking about a billion Chinese and whatever he tries to say it’s OK because Bill didn’t go with his answer not so long ago, whatever I know I had the right answer.

Anna is one of those people who talk to you with her face about 6-8 inches away, kind of inside my personal zone but with her beautiful eyes and the sparkle in them it made me feel good. Maybe it’s nothing but it did make me think of possibilities, not at all sure how old she is. Also, she smokes so that’s def. a let down.

The other gals working, Linsey the buxom bartender is going through a bad breakup with her ex boyfriend, and the dark haired slightly latin looking gal was wearing a killer black top with a strap over only one shoulder that really played up her upper body quite nicely. For the life of me I can’t remember her name.

The team behind us, Monostat7, the large group of women with several guys today, finished first, the English dudes finished 2nd. The gals have a table of younger girls with them, must be daughters/friends of daughters, they seemed to have some answers as well and were really excited to participate.

One older gal who by the end of the evening came by our table telling us that her phone got “dropped” in the toilet. She had someone else fish it out, she was a bit upset. Also she was messing with Brad’s computer, only being funny and “acting” like she was typing on it but he didn’t take it well.

I did get a few more answers, music, Genesis for “No Son of Mine”, and another name for leaves of Coriander, Cilantro. I personally think I did OK.

Nicki called while I was there and hung up before I could get outside and figure out what she wanted. It had to do with her school, why does the moons of Saturn get torn apart but the space station doesn’t? I gave her a few reasons I thought were valid but who knows.

I didn’t go to the John’s Creek release of a new beer, the Noel for the Christmas in July, I’m thinking that it will still be there tomorrow for BOTM. Hope so.

The dude from TriggerTrap finally emailed again, still no word on when the v1 Shields will be available. At this point they have issues with some substitutions of parts by their suppliers, they really need to get the suppliers in line here. I think they are not really procuring the parts but just ordering a bunch from a vendor and the parts have changed since they initially designed the board. I think the fact that they have had this going on for the better part of a year is the problem, had they gotten it together fast it may have worked. The issue is they are not getting the parts from the manufacturer but a vendor who gets them from multiple manufacturers.

Yes, first day of school, many of the corners I passed had mom & dads waiting with their kids for the bus. I always loved the first day of school, seeing friends you hadn’t seen for the whole summer, getting to wear new clothes for the first time and all the new school supplies. I think some kids don’t actually start until Wednesday though.

Tommorow the order Brian sent for our stuff from AdaFruit should be coming in. I’ll have to then play with some of the Arduino stuff. I’ll need to get a few more proto-boards so I can have multiple projects going before possibly making them permeant on a proto-board.

stopped in at the Shroom for my free Appetizer and a beer, Lauryn was decked out in her ‘Shroom shirt she ‘modified’ by cutting the neck larger and then opening the back with cuts and some creative braiding. She had a cute colored bra who’s straps showed from behind as well as when the larger neck opening would fall off her shoulder, wow. Had a Fat Tire but it didn’t count since it rang up with the same button as the pint.

Getting home and backing into the garage I noticed that the yard guys had been by,, they cut the grass and had even skalped it in several places, <sarcasm>thanks dudes</sarcasm>

I assembled the 555 timer circuit I wanted to test the oscilloscope with and messed with tHE Arduino a bit. Then watched last weeks episode of True Blood, it’s getting a bit crazier than I like SO I may let it go. I want the new episodes of Game oF Thrones to start up again.

Mom and Dad are going to be here tomorrow I think Brian said.

So, yesterday I got the Arduino and messed with it for awhile, today I instead just had some beers and hung out.

After work I stopped in at the Shroom and had a beer along with some meatball sub, then came home and had a short nap on the couch upstairs. I did wake up before too long and was over at the Taco Mac for a couple of more beers about 9pm.

Stayed out way too late, Cara & Timmy holding up the bar, JiJi even said Hi.

I chatted with a cute younger couple I’d talked with before, Christine and Dale or Clay. Also met a new Florida fan, Karen Christy who is a Sales person at a Plumbing supply company. Had a nice time talking and stayed for more beers than I should have. Got home after 2am and got her number.

The photo today is quite apropos, it was raining early this morning, heard some thunder and the rain on the roof a few hours before actually getting up. We really needed the rain. Driving into work the roads were wet but the rain had stopped.
It started raining again later in the morning, so I didn’t get out to the Greenway today. By noon though the rain had stopped and the temperature rose.

Work issue with SSL seems to be related to the customers configuration or routers not allowing SSL to negotiate, it works on their server from here using their device and software.

Even with it being IPA Day I didn’t have an IPA at the BOTM, I already had the Harpoon IPA so instead I had the Raspberry Hefe, yuck! Then I had the Avery The Czar 2010, the end of Suwanee Taco Mac’s Christmas in July. Saw the regular crew there, Mike, Mike, Beth, Lori, Lori’s friend (with BF), EE dude, Pete, other talk short haired cute gal (I should know her name), other curly haired brunette. Then black dude, photoshop guy, Charlie & Alicia, other couple were the gal is cute. There was another dude I’ve seen before with a gal with several tattoos and quite an impressive cleavage who moved to a table later.

Got home after picking up several beers from the Beverage Superstore, a Nogne O Barley Wine, Jailhouse Conjugal visit Red Ale, Shipyard Imperial Porter and a six-pack of Butternuts Snapperhead IPA. I found my package from RobotShop.com and opened it up to find three very small things. Went upstairs with the MacBook and plugged in the ArduinoUNO and it began running the BLINK program automatically, it must have been programmed to start. Built the Prototype Breadboard Shield and realized just how BAD my eyes are, boy getting old sucks big time. I got it all together and the LEDs work fine as well as all the lines I used on several small test projects. Did some playing with LEDs and then a Piezo. the Piezo was suppose to make some music but it was rather lame, also the volume was really low, or I can’t hear.

Dad called this afternoon because Mom and heard about the ground turkey recall of 2011 Cargill initiates a Recall of 36Million pounds of turkey due to possible contamination from Salmonella Heidelberg. FoxNews Many are brands sold by Kroger and today my brother Brian checked our fridge and noticed we both had some of the turkey on recall.

My package with the arduino should arrived on Thursday, need to get some components together, LEDs, 10K resisters, PN2222 transistors, some opt-isolators, not to mention a USB cable, I think I have one of those and most of the other components. I would like to pickup the package of breadboarding wires that is at the AdaFruit Industries website.

At work I’ve done the “survey” that they (personnel) has been emailing us to do, didn’t give them super A++ ratings although if I had a bit more confidence in things I guess I may have. Most rating were at least good, several more better and really good but a few were below. Hope they don’t know who I am, I’m guessing. I also released another solution to the SSL bug to support to check, and picked up another issue.

Home after work, Nicki made some really good lasagna for dinner, she added a bit of cilontro which was a bit different but it was good.

Didn’t do much else but clean up a bit upstairs in the office to organize my electronic stuff to allow me to find stuff when I start to experiment with the Arduino UNO board when it arrives. Tomorrow I’ll be getting some stuff that I have downstairs in the basement more than likely.

I found a USB cable that should work with the Arduino as well as some transistors and LEDs, I will need to pick up some 220Ω resistors from Frys sometime soon, maybe tomorrow?

I bought this today, should be here about mid-week,
