Cameras through my life

135mm cameras in my life:

Argus C3 (1975?) Photo

My grandpa on my mother’s side gave me this when I was expressing an interest in photography.  He had purchased it a long time ago, along with all kinds of lenses and things.  It was in excellent condition at the time around 1975 or so.  Had lots of filters and such as well, ended up giving it to Brian the younger brother who lost it somewhere along the way.  I feel bad that I didn’t hang on to it myself.

Minolta SRT-201 (1976?) Photo

No longer have this camera, bought it about 1978 I think.  I was in High School still and got this along with a 55mm lens as a kit from Sears I believe.  Had no idea what camera to get and just picked a kit out of the catalog when I had the money to buy it.  I think it was around $250.

Minolta X-700 (1981?) Photo

Bought this while in College I think, from a shop in the Mall in Gainesville.  I may have done this after I graduated, I’m really not sure.

20?? Nikon Coolpix S9100 mostly for video 16.1M

Nikon D100 (12/17/2002)

My first digital 35mm DSLR camera, I had been waiting for a long time and ended up buying it at a shop in Atlanta along with a older/used 35-85 push-pull zoom lens.  I think I paid about $1999 for it?

Nikon D200 (01/29/2006)

Bought about January 2006.  but didn’t get until almost February I think.  Main reason for upgrade was larger resolution.  Sold D100 to my brother Brian.  Bought from Adorama since B&H couldn’t get the camera fast enough.  I also got the kit with the camera since it was faster as well. modified this to take IR shots, haven’t done much with it. $2300?

Nikon D700 (01/26/2010)

Bought this at the end of 2009, mostly for the full frame so I could utilize my wide angle lenses better. $2600?

GoPro Hero3+

Outdoors stuff, hiking and in the water. I now use it mostly for the Phantom 2 Drone.

Nikon Df 01/10/2014) 16M

$2995 with 50mm 1.8 lens

GoPro Hero4 Black (07/15/2015)

For video stuff and timelapse.

Nikon D810 () 36. Mp

Bought Mar 2015 $2995 body only with MD-12 Battery pack. Good Timelapse, some video.

GoPro Hero5 (2017)

Lots better timelapse, traded in my Hero3+ for $100 off.
