PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is a type of refractive surgery to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. PRK was the first type of laser eye surgery for vision correction and is the predecessor to the popular LASIK procedure.

Day 1 (March 5, 2015)

I could see quite clearly after getting out of the LazikPlus center, better than without glasses but not perfectly.

When I take my drops and sit down almost inevitably now the medicine runs into my sinuses and into my mouth and I get this nasty medicine before either but I have noticed that my sinuses are all clear so I’m assuming that if I had some sort of bacterial infection or anitbiotics would leak into my sinuses, they’re taken care of now.

Day 2

All hell breaking loose, my eyes are on fire. Lots of pain and I can’t really sleep or anything, wow this is bad. Used the numbing drops. Having a hard time not rubbing my eyes.

Day 3

Failed and rubbed the eyes at least once, feeling a lot better and seeing fair. Eyes mostly not hurting but they feel scratchy and the left one feels the worst.

Day 4

Vision still bad still @ about 20/40 or 20/50. They are feeling better and the “sand” feeling is moving around the left eye, the contact bandage may be moving around ???

Day 5

Vision a whole lot better, still a bit fuzzy, maybe due to the contact bandages. Feel much better.

Day 6

Back to work today, had trouble keeping my eye open and staring at the screen. Got some stuff done though.

Two Months

Six Months – all is well, I can see and very little halo now.
